What do you think about the composition of this image? It was a chance shot in between images at a shoot yesterday. It has kind of stuck with me, but not sure what to do to improve. All suggestions welcome.

When I have a situation like this it can be intriguing and interesting but if it isn't a home run it goes into the "lost / not found" file. But you nailed the selective focus.

I have to agree with D2Hundred, this is a well composed shot. The focus on the eyes draws you in. It always helps to have an attractive model with real camera presence. I definitely think its a keeper.

Not sure you understood my comment. It may be a keeper but I wouldn't consider it a home run.

Thank you. I tried to be creative and convert to BW and then put the color back in the eyes, but the orange reflection of the leaves in the left eye make it a bit freakish.

I got that, but sometimes "mistakes" turn into at least ground rule doubles... i.e. Superglue, Silly Putty, Teflon, etc.

I'm still learning as I go. I am happy with the keeper.

Fun shot, really draws you into the image. I can see this as a big wall print that would surly have a wow factor. . .say 30x30 square.

Does anyone else think that this female looks alot like Shirley MacLaine?

Thank you! I appreciate your compliment.
I was trying to think of who she reminded me of. You hit the nail on the head!

I like the slightly offbeat nature of the composition quite a bit. The eyes and mouth both work just fine.
That green branch or whatever it is resting against her left eyebrow and temple bothers me a bit though.
