Old Bynum Bridge, central NC.
Another of the migrating bird species passing through our neck of the woods, not common in our backyards (I wish)!

The virio was trying to grab something from the tree, so hovering for a second or two like a hummingbird, not furiously flying from one tree to another. That made the small BIF capture a little easier than usual.

Thank you very much, Jack.

The BIFs were taken with max ISO set to 1600 - a user error! They looked really dark in the in-camera preview and I thought they were goners. But, shadow removal during PP in NX Studio did a pretty great job of restoring details. The bird was quite close - and the only species which 'cooperated' during yesterday's visit. But, one species' collaboration per visit is more than enough for the ROI.

Modern cameras are amazing. And this is a 7-year old camera with 'ancient DSLR' technology (the D500).
