Wonderful set of images! Pretty country and your photos show it. Love the last photo.. you framed it well

Thanks. As for that last one, there weren't a lot of choices. I was glad I stumbled upon that view--almost literally--because the framing was already there; all I had to do was choose my spot a few inches this way or that.

Beautiful work.

I would like to know what area these were taken as I get into Albuquerque often.

Quite a photogenic area! The water #4 appears to originate from a spring under the rock in the background, ...or is it from a different water source?

Those first four photos were taken along a creek, and all were of flowing water. I haven't been to the source yet and probably won't attempt it--things get awfully brushy up higher, and less scenic.

From Albuquerque you would drive southwest to Silver City, about four hours, then north through Pinos Altos (about six miles). From there Hwy 15 winds through the mountains and past some impressive stretches of rock formations. None of these were taken very near any road, but even just driving you would get some great views.

I am starting to find my way around retirement after an unsettling trip to Florida (see post from May 10 if you prefer Florida photos) during which I was pathetically out of my element. Now I'm back on familiar turf, with more time to hike and check my trail cameras, so I'm happy. The cameras have started to get some interesting stuff on my cameras so stay tuned for that, and in the meantime here is a set from two of the places I've been exploring lately. The flowers pictured, in order, are the yellow monkeyflower, false Solomon's seal, and wild strawberry. I hope you enjoy them.

I agree. I can't live in the middle of it and not explore and photograph it. Thanks for looking.
