However, the colour/saturation
of your edit do not represent the actual colour of the bird,
and the light levels you created are too dark for my palette... or palate?

I really liked the shot, and I thought if a little more contrasty it might make the pic even more striking.
I find this seems to work in my frames, and attracts more attention from viewers - rather like glossies in mags?

Thanks everyone for all the advice. The photos that are PP are very pretty but they are not the originals. I think they would be beautiful for artwork. But I do appreciate all the tips. I will keep practicing and possible look into the d850. We’ll see! I went to a photography class last Thursday and will be going back again every Thursday through the summer. Hopefully I can share more photos. Thanks everyone!!!!!

Possibly you need to reduce the brightness or the backlighting of your display.
