Ibis Pond, the rookery where I took my shots, allows relatively close access. I was shooting with my 600 f/4 lens with a 2x tc. Although this gave me sharp results, the narrow field of view and my old reactions prevented me from capturing good BIFs. As I left the pond and returned to the road off the island, I was north of the pond. This was the route most of the birds were taking in search of breakfast.
This egret was a long way off, but headed in my direction. I stood steady and got a wonderful burst capture. This post is cropped, but shows the bird looking around as it heads out for a day of fishing.

I rarely get a front on BIF, so I posted the sequence. Did not mean to offend.
Beautiful set Mike, what camera and what frame rate did you use

Thanks, Jack. I have a custom "GO" button on my Sony A1. Steve Perry showed how to set it in his great set up video for the A1. It is 1/3200 at the lowest aperture possible and "Hi" 20fps. The focus is area, but it worked well in this case.
Mike, I'm with the 'pick the best' comment / feedback. The choices are hard, but you're a man, you can do it.
Personally, I'd go with the final of the series, as well as considering the WB, seems a bit yellow / warm and a tad green. Finally, is your "copyright" out of date, maybe even unnecessary as an EXIF comment?

Thanks, Paul. I will have to look at the copyright info.

I'd look at the WB, probably in post, and just delete the unnecessary EXIF text. Then, get back out and track more BIF.

Beautiful series, Mike. Your lens/camera combo produced great detail in download viewing.
