The first pictures were of my cousin's lilac bush! Across the street a bird was singing. On the way home I found some cool cabins. The focusing is VERY fast, and usually very accurate.
I hadn't ever seen a lilac bush this dark. Very pretty.

Not only did it find the bird instantly, but it focused on his eye!

I found this bird walking down an open area. Does anyone know what kind of bird it is? I was shooting through chain link, so got some strange banding.

North of Panguitch are several old homes. I'd like to know their history and when the people moved out. Most have power, so it wasn't too long ago.

Another of the old houses.

You and the R3 make a good team, Kathy! I have never taken the time to stop around Panguitch to shoot those houses, good work.

Thanks, Mike. Do you know anything about them? Note to all: There's NO PLACE to pull off the road. You take your life in your hands to get these! And there are trucks along that road.

No, I do not, but I bet that jederick (Jim) does. The lack of a pull off and my wife's fear of dying has kept me on the road in that area (LOL).

You're wise! At least your wife is!

I found the R7 eye focus equally amazing at great distances.
It is said that the AF is the same as the R3 though.
Good shots. Don't know about the houses but I believe Panguich at on time had a cheese factory where you could go in and watch the cheese being made.

They told me it was almost foolproof. I don't agree 100%, but the focusing is pretty quick and excellent! Interesting about Panguitch. I'm going to see if I can get ahold of someone there who can tell me something about these houses.

Thank you, Joe. I really appreciate your comment.
Congratulations on your wonderful new βtoyβ and I hope you have as much as fun shooting as we will looking. I like the abandoned house pictures but sorry you had to risk life and limb to get them.

Thank you. I'm sure I'll enjoy it. It wasn't the first time in my life I did risky things to get a picture!
You are off to a good start with your new gear, Kathy.
