Interesting new 2x macro lens

Another lens out of China. This fully manual TTArtisan brand lens goes to 2:1 (that seems to be where a lot of new macros go now), and it can attach a cold shoe mount on the end for external lighting. Weirdly, it also has a tilt-shift mount. The tilt feature is handy since you can bend the lens a certain way to lean the top forward. This creates a greater depth of focus in pictures, so you can effectively get a focus-stacked effect in a single frame. The shift feature is an odd one, though. This lets you bend the lens a different way that is normally used to correct for perspective distortion that you can get from wide angle lenses when shooting tall buildings or tall trees. But I don't understand why that is a thing for a narrow-angle 100mm macro lens. Perhaps it gives a weird look to close-up product shots?
Anyway, at about $400, the price is rather attractive and it might be an alternative to focus stacking. I've never tried a lens like this, though.

Another lens out of China. This fully manual TTArt... (show quote)

Looks like a pretty cool lens.... Personally I already own three macro lenses that almost never get used.... Don't think I need another but if I did I would certainly consider this lens.

Here is a more in-depth review.

That is useful. It also mentions that both the tilt and shift features can be used for various artistic effects.
