Navywife66, as jcboy pointed out, you can use the ND function to smooth water, but it also can give some nice effects to moving objects such as clouds and trains. Another nice function is handheld hi-res, which can be toggled on and off with the video button when you are in still photography. Unlike most other cameras, the Oly not only composites it in camera as a jpeg, but also gives you 2 raw files, the composite and the single exposure raw. Also, try Live Comp for light painting and lightning. This shot was taken last evening, using live comp. You can literally watch the image building on the rear lcd, and stop it when you have what you are after. For more info on the features, check out Robin Wong or Rob Trek on youtube.

I'm 77 years old and fractured my back four years ago falling out of an inversion table, so I'm very familiar with on going back pain. I shoot with an R5 and find that the RF 24-105mm, RF 24-240mm, RF 100-400mm are fantastic light weight lenses. (Read Ken Rockwell's Reviews of these lenses) I have no problem carrying them around all day, even the 100-400mm with a 2X Extender. A great lightweight set-up. Yes, there are lighter but I would question, better, set-ups. I must admit here that I recently sold my RF 100-400mm and purchased the bigger heavier RF 100-500mm and don't even find it to be very burdensome. I was out shooting for 4 hours with them Monday with no problem. There R5 with the RF 24-240mm, the RF 100-400mm and a 2X Extender are a super team. The EOS RP is an incredible super light weight alternative to the R5.

That is a very nice choice indeed! I’m really liking the features on the OM-1 especially with the high res hand hold option. My spine sends mixed messages to my fingers and sometimes they work and sometimes they quiver. I love handholding my camera over using the tripod too. Good luck with your new gear, I hope to see some pics!!

Given your situation I think you’ve made a wise anf fruitful choice. My physical issue is different (acute calcific arthritis) that attacked shoulders, wrists and hips. Having used Nikon F mount gear for over 50 years it was a difficult thing to do but I’ve largely switched to Oly gear for most of the time.

I went even smaller and went with the PenF and two pro lenses, the 7/14 and 12/40. What a pleasant surprise. I was told the rig would be unbalanced. I now disagree with that assessment. All works fine.

I hope you find your choice of Oly as great as I have. Image quality is superb in my view. Good luck.
