Stay with me:
I previously had a Payboo Credit Card issued by Comenity Bank which I cancelled in July 2022 because they made it so hard to get to the bill at that time.
After prodding the Bank they finally notified the credit reporting agencies in December 2022 that the card was closed. This change was reflected on my credit report of January 2023.
I have since decided to reopen a Payboo Account to save a few $. B&H still insists that I have a Payboo Account (which I have confirmed with the bank is closed). I have been corresponding with B&H since February 2023. B&H says it is the Bank's problem - Comenity Bank says it is B&H's problem for not updating their records.
Not a good way to treat a customer of nearly 50 years who began dealing with B&H right after the major camera store in Chicago, Altman Camera, closed as the workers had voted to unionize.
If there is a B&H employee on this group please PM me.
We need a new section for banking and credit card issues.

I am sorry that you have had a bad experience. I know several B&H employees on the group. I will private message them and let them contact you directly.

UPDATEAfter several months of trying finally someone answered, listened to my story, and actually took action. I received a call back from a "manager in accounts". Apparently B&H is having a terrible time with Comenity Bank in that the message that pops up insisting that I already have an account is a known problem and B&H has been trying to get Comenity to fix the issue for months. I was assured that there are many others with the same problem, but Comenity is not responsive. Comenity is a branch of
Bread Financial for those that are interested and has millions of users of affinity credit cards.
Usually, after trying to reapply the applicant receives a letter in 2-3 weeks. My case is different in that no letter was ever received. The manager dissuaded me from tying to talk to Comenity myself in order to save me the aggravation of hitting a brick wall.
All-in-all B&H could have gone with Citi Bank as Costco does and probably would have had much more responsive service.
For now, there is nothing more to do except make all new purchases from Pictureline in Salt Lake City.

Does Costco pay your tax? If you don't care about the tax then you can use just about any credit card with B&H.

I'm not sure if CitiBank has any program that would allow B&H to avoid the taxes, but that is not the point. Comenity Bank is totally unresponsive to a major client's (B&H) needs.

The point is the Comenity Bank paid the tax. Otherwise you can use cards from any bank at B&H. And since they paid the tax they want to issue the card to those likely to carry a balance not those who pay it off within the grace period.

How do you know that Comenity Bank is the entity actually paying the tax and not B&H since they will have to remit the tax to the state/city/county?
By the way you are nitpicking over an aside. The real problem is Comenity Bank being unresponsive to B&H requests to fix the known problem.
