I bought the same lens used from KEH in excellent condition at a significant discount from new 3 years ago. They also tossed in a 10% military discount. I had to call them directly to get the discount

That sounds like you had a great deal indeed! Hopefully my second hand lens will be as pristine. It was used for church services when they broadcasted during Covid.
