every ounce-in-awhile, cameras do get a run-thru & proved working still

Great, working and shutter is accurate, right ?

Otherwise replacing or fixing a shutter on an older SLR or rangefinder model with hard to find parts, may cost your buyer as much or more today, as what they paid to buy the camera from you.

I buy, sell, trade my used gear all the time, and I try to be sure it is in as-advertised condition , both mechanically and cosmetically.

Cheers and best to you.

We're all left to wonder how serious was your research into pricing and the sincerity of your interest in completing a sale of anything, when reviewing this for-sale post: https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-774359-1.html

Bebu no need for a shutter tester, just make shots at the correct meter settings using various slow to fast shutter speeds, and see if they are properly exposed, and that will indicate that your shutter is working within tolerances of its settings.

As I said, any responsible seller would want to do that for any buyer. Just put yourself in the place of that buyer who paid for your used SLR and the shutter is off. No need to be the jerk and tell them afterwards, "sorry but buyer beware".

I bought a used Canon F1 SLR as that model had been my go-to when I covered the War in Nicaragua between the Sandinistas and Contras, and one of my original Canon F1 copies had gone on to camera heaven. I use the Canon F1 when I teach my university 35mm B&W film courses. The seller verified that the shutter was still within tolerances, and since I got the camera and have extensively used it, I know that he was an honest and responsible seller.

Cheers and best to you all.

Do you understand the difference between shutters still work, and shutters' speeds are still accurate and within tolerance.

When I had my shutter go off , it still "worked" but it had slowed down (imperceptibly) and was overexposing.

I dont know if you have the ability to shoot some film and have it processed to verify your shutters speeds are still within tolerance, or not. I would do that if it was me selling those three film cameras. If I was a buyer of your film cameras and intended to use them, I would feel better knowing the shutters were still accurate, before I bought them. That information alone might make the difference between getting the sales or not.

Certainly for the digital Canon 7D you can easily check its mechanical shutter for correct exposure, and get a shutter actuations count.

Otherwise just sell them "as is".

Cheers and best to you.

That is perfectly your decision. Best of luck to you on your sales of all four cameras. I hope it all works out for you. I dont know what the used camera market is like in Hawaii.

If you are planning to sell them anywhere where they can't be examined in-person, then make some decent photos of them from many angles, give full descriptions and prices you are willing to accept, or ask for bids. .

Cheers and best to you.

You may have already thought of this, but a list of equipment, giving basic info...make, model, condition, shutter count, asking price, shipping costs, etc. would be appreciated. The more good information you provide, the better responses you will receive. Good luck!

I wish digital camera maker would still come out with a 10 mp or more if possible CCD sensor on one model . That old technologies sensor i thought was special . On the other hand a used camera goes around $50 .

The sensor manufacturers do not want to make CCD sensors any longer. The astrophotography crowd favors CCDs, and even those cameras are now moving to CMOS. I still have a CCD Astro camera and I won't be selling it.
