Someone was asking about difficulty opening a MS-Word document.
Here's a link to MacHeist offering MS-Office 2021 for $29.99 Windows or Mac for 24hours:

I bought a copy, perhaps a year ago. Full suite of Word, Excel, etc.
Legit MS registration, with no problem doing so.
Only issue is that it is not upgradable in the future, but for 30 bucks, its a deal!

I don't care for upgrade but if you have the hard drive failed and you have to reinstall everything can you still reinstall your copy of Office?

If this is legit it would probably be good for me. I’m using office 2010. So if I get this I’m sure if it gives me 14 years I will probably not be needing it anymore anyway.

This is Office 2021 LTSC = Long Term Servicing Channel. It's a new name for what Microsoft calls a 'perpetual license' version. So - for one LOW price - you get a permanent license for one FULL copy of Office Pro (whatever version) with NO MAJOR UPGRADES Provided. Hey - NO BIGGIE ! I'm still running Office 2007 on one of my laptops - no problems. I'll be DEAD before Office 2021 LTSC becomes obsolete. Of course microsnot would rather you buy an office 365 subscription - where you pay into it every year. And WHERE is the money and value in THAT ??

If you don't back up your main system/program drive on a regular basis - THAT will become a self critiquing error! Some license codes do EXPIRE after a certain time - so you may well have to purchase a new license code if your system drive had to be recreated from scratch.

I have a bunch of software (office included) that I can reinstall any time I want. From time to time I format the hard drive and reinstall the OS. Backing up isn't the answer as it backs up all the junk accumulate overtime.

I can appreciate that - but after 7 or 8 years I have installed so many things that reinstalling everything (hundreds) would also take years. I don't think regular (? annual ?) clean installs of the OS with subsequent installs of ALL of your critical software apps are the answer.
Yes - I do NOT like boot creep - where month to month, year to year, your boot time takes longer and longer.
I do use software that lets me choose Which apps load at boot time - and this is quite helpful.
