Over 70 years ago when I was a little girl we used to visit the seaside town of Silloth on a day trip. We were recently staying at the Hunday Manor Hotel on a two day break not too far away and decided to visit Silloth.
Hunday Manor Country House hotel was built in the 18th Century and has views over the Solway Forth to Scotland. The view in #2 is a short walk from the hotel.
The Christ Church is Anglican and was built in the late 19th century and consecrated in 1870, it’s Victorian Gothic in style.
The main industries in Silloth are Carr’s flour mill, transport, storage companies and the docks. I loved the bright green truck.
The two small cars are Morris Minor 1000s. One dates from 1969 and the other from the mid 1950’s. They are a type used by the police during those years.
Silloth Lighthouse was originally built in 1864 as a mobile structure on a short rail track. In 1914 it was fixed in position and at that time had a small cabin on a plinth below the tower for the keeper. The light was automated in 1930 and the front leading light was withdrawn from service in 1959. The lighthouse was rebuilt in its original style in 1997.
Canon 650D, 18-55mm, Tamron 18-400mm lens.

Wonderful tour, Sylvia, thanks for sharing!
Fun tour Sylvia… when I saw the police car I kept waiting for the next picture to show 12 bobbies hopping out like a Ringling Brothers clown skit. Thanks.
Very nice, Sylvia! Some history there!
Outstanding, Sylvia. A wonderful very "English" set.
Sylvia, you are still the magician of the kit lens. Beautiful images.
