In our travels we've seen a lot of churches, and as the title states, they can come in all sizes and shapes and styles. Some of them have special meaning for us and our family, some are just ones that we've seen around the world. Some we've attended services at, most we have not.
I realize that this will be a long travel log, but sit back and enjoy, and if you have images that you wish to share, please feel free to do so...

Interesting collection. I've been to many of the locations (especially in Europe) and visited several of the churches -- but never considered a curation of this type. Most of my visits date back to the '80s and to be honest I haven't yet worked up the gumption to scan all my 35mm slides.
The next couple of images are of the Loretto Chapel in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The Loretto Chapel is famous for its 'Miraculous Staircase', a wooden spiral staircase of amazing design and construction which was built by a man no one knew and he left without a trace and without getting paid. And the wood used was not native to the area and there was no use of nails or metal fasteners. For the story, go to:

I really enjoyed your presentation. I also stop whenever I see an interesting church. However my collection is significantly smaller than yours.
Thank you for sharing this interesting and enjoyable presentation!!
While the outside of such old and beautiful Catholic churches has not changed, the inside is what counts. My family is traditional Catholic, and holds that V2 invented an entirely new religion, called the Novus Ordo. The N.O. is not Catholic, has embraced the worldly, humanistic view of religion, and has made the inside of the church buildings into something that a real pope would not recognize as Catholic.

Yes, I'm also intrigued by the architecture and the level of detail in some of the stone work, particularly around the main entrances on many of the churches in Europe. Below are some examples of what I mean.
This is the stone work around the front entrance of the Cathédrale Notre-Dame in Strasbourg, France - September 2004 - Minolta DiMAGE 7Hi
And this is some of the detail from that center section immediately above the doors - September 2004 - Minolta DiMAGE 7Hi
And this was from above the entrance to the St. Martin Collegiate Church in Colmar, France. The central figure is supposed to have been St. Nicolas - September 2004 - Minolta DiMAGE 7Hi
And this is the stone work over the entrance to Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris, France - September 2004 - Minolta DiMAGE 7Hi
