I was shooting some cloudy Moon pix when I noticed a green tinge at the top of the images. Looked up and, wow, a starburst Aurora directly overhead. Shot a few pix of it and then noticed the Aurora was building in the north. Shot a few pix of it.

Not too sure if the clouds added or detracted from the Aurora but not much I could do to get rid of them!

Setup was a Sony A7 III and Samyang 14mm, tripod mounted. All pix at f/4, 10 sec and ISO 400.

Enjoy!

Amazing! Thanks for posting. We are headed to Alaska in a few weeks. Maybe I will get lucky.

March and April, September and October are normally the best times for Auroras in our area but the farther north you go the longer the Aurora 'season'.

Have fun in Alaska; great place to visit.

Really pretty aurora captures! The starburst is quite interesting, as well as unique. Makes me want to see them again...!

The way Auroras have been behaving this season you might just see one from Arkansas!?
