The verdict was a blow against the far-right group and another milestone in the Justice Department’s prosecution of the pro-Trump r****rs who stormed the Capitol.

Four members of the P***d B**s, including their former leader Enrique Tarrio, were convicted on Thursday of s*******s conspiracy for plotting to keep President Donald J. Trump in power after his e******n defeat by leading a violent mob in attacking the Capitol on J*** 6, 2021.

The fifth defendant in the case, Dominic Pezzola, was found not guilty on the s******n charges, although he was convicted of other serious felonies.

The verdicts, coming after seven days of deliberations in Federal District Court in Washington, were a major blow against one of the country’s most notorious far-right groups and another milestone in the Justice Department’s vast investigation of the Capitol attack.

The trial was the last of three s******n cases that federal prosecutors brought against key figures in the Capitol attack.

The s******n charge, which is rarely used and harks back to the Union’s efforts to protect the federal government against secessionist rebels during the Civil War, was also used in two separate trials against nine members of another far-right group, the O**h K****rs m*****a. Six of those defendants — including Stewart Rhodes, the organization’s founder and leader — were convicted of s******n; each of the others was found guilty of different serious felonies.

As the verdicts were read in the fourth-floor courtroom, Mr. Tarrio, Mr. Pezzola and the other defendants — Ethan Nordean, Joseph Biggs and Zachary Rehl — remained steely. With the exception of Mr. Pezzola, the men were also found guilty of conspiring to obstruct the certification of the e******n, which took place at the Capitol on J*** 6. All five defendants were convicted of a third conspiracy count as well, which accused them of interfering with the duties of members of Congress that day.

On the conspiracy counts alone, the men could face a maximum of nearly 50 years in prison. And they were found guilty of other felonies as well.

The jury’s decision to acquit only Mr. Pezzola of s******n was notable: He was the sole defendant who was not a leader of the P***d B**s, but among the five men was also the most violent during the Capitol attack.

I am curious as to why you think these convictions are bad. If Biden had lost the e******n and A****A members were convicted of doing the same thing these these guys did, would you also think the A****A convictions were bad?

That was intentional because if I had posted that it was written by Alan Feuer and Zach Montague of the New York Times then Trump supporters on this site wouldn't have read it and instead would have started posting that the New York Times was biased, blah, blah, blah. But, convictions for s******n are convictions for s******n, no matter who writes about it.

Well, every real American, who believes in the entire Constitution and not just the 2nd amendment, should take seriously groups that believe in crazy, wacko conspiracy theories and groups that try to o*******w f**r e******ns and consequently are convicted of s******n. They are nothing to be laughed at.

Trump tried to overturn a f**r e******n, resulting in the 1*6 i**********n, but nonetheless currently seems too be the odds on favorite to be the Republican nominee in 2 years. So yes, there are good reasons for all real Americans who believe in the Constitution to be very concerned about him.
