Taking some of Erich's tips, I tried ICM. I would like to get smoother less definitive lines and a little more ethereal so will continue to practice. Comments and suggestions always welcome. Bev

What I like most about this is the amount of empty space around the trees. That's a bit different from many I've seen (and attempted). I also like the difference in trunk sizes and the soft neutral colors. IMO it's an engaging work!

I agree with Linda... I would add, it is dream-like.

You’ve started with an ideal subject and it looks good to me. You will find it addictive for sure, so I’m looking forward to seeing where it takes you.

This looks like the sort of situation where you might want to be deliberately OOF, and not just a little bit.

I think you are right, I want it more out of focus and softer lines. Thanks for your comments.

You got just the right amount of blur so that there is still texture in the bark. I also like the space between trees. I like this one.

Some people I have shown my photos to commented that the bottoms of the trees look cut off. That seems to be with your image as well. To counter that, I start my pan well below the trunks of the trees (depending on the shutter speed) and then trip the shutter just before the trunks of the trees so that I get a bit of the ground. Experimentation is the name of the game here. Looks good to me.

Thank you Erich, appreciate your comments and tip. I'd completely forgotten about the ground. Must have been concentrating on the movement of my camera and forgot other things. I'll remember the ground next time. Bev

I like it .. Elements of the image are complimentary to each other and gives it a dreamy feel.
