In our area some businesses are adding 4% to your bill if you use a credit card. Just today my dog g***mer has joined that group. I thanked her for screwing her customers. I told her her tip would be 4% less. I’m no longer doing business with those businesses that screw me over. Not sure if this is a nationwide trend or just here in liberal sucking California.
Has anyone else seen this practice?

From the little I understand, the credit card companies charge a fee to process t***sactions. Some stores include this fee in their sales price.

Just passing on business costs! Cash is king; I use it whenever possible and even get discounts. Take charge of the t***sactions instead of beating up on the small business person.

Lots of online stores have been charging a 3% credit card fee for years. They usually offer a mail-in-cash/check option, but do not guarantee to hold stock for your order while the check is in the mail. So if you're buying anything that's in short supply, a credit card with the fee is the only safe way to be sure you'll get what you ordered.

My last employer constantly complained about the fees she was having to pay to process credit card t***sactions. Every time they would go up she would raise the prices of the merchandise to compensate. Your businesses are just passing the cost on to you and telling you they are doing it. The alternative is to pay cash saving both you and the company the fee.

A charitable organization I donate to adds on the processing fee to your contribution amount so instead of $25 I am paying $27 and change.

One takeout restaurant near me is adding 3 or 3.5% I think.
I haven't checked to see if they raised their prices, or are using the (presumably) fee they have to pay the card company to compensate for expenses and prices are the same.

Many businesses are doing this. At least it's more honest than just raising prices and not admitting why.

Years ago some places gave a discount for cash.

Same difference, depending which side of the fence one is on....

A gas station near me charges $.20 more for using credit cards. I don't go there, but not just for that.

I wouldn't be pissed off for businesses that charge credit card fee. The goverment does it all the time. I am pissed off at businesses that don't accept cash.

Nobody is screwing you over, she has to make up the cost somewhere. If she raises the price to cover the cost credit companies charge her, then everyone who doesn't use a card is getting screwed (they would be paying the fee for your use of a card)

I’m retired now but I used to sell professional video Quitman. Sometimes I would have projects that involve the solution and it would cost 500,000 more I always had Church just want to use a credit card when I was $40-$80,000 because the pastor wanted to get the points. We also had a policy that it would be 3% but we said that none of the people would go ahead and pay with a check. I actually never charged anybody 3% even if they used a credit card.

Hell this has been going on for 20 years, they are NOT screwing you over, they are recovering the charge that the CC company charges them.

Wow, someone complaining when businesses try to cover their costs sounds like a liberal to me.
