I tried with a 24-70 but they are fast little buggers. I may have to try with the 70-200 to give them more space.

The 24-70 will work if you are careful. It is possible to sneak up near them if you don't make any sudden moves. Otherwise the 70-200 will help (but remember that it has a minimum focus distance of about 6 feet). However, that will not help with the buggers' speed since you want to get a fairly small field of view to get a good shot of the bug. High frame rates will help. Be willing to take lots of shots since they react faster than you can.
In my experience they seem to enjoy blue or purple flowers. Most of my shots were taken with the moths on Verbena bonariensis (Brasilian Verbena).

If I can get a better shot I will share, thanks for the tips.
I have no idea what the bush is that they spends so much time on but it must be yummy. Perhaps you could help identify but it has some pretty yellow flowers. I will see what I can do.
