I read about the museum in England. They also have a small cinema in the local museum. I chuckled at your story about the life size figure. That would be a conversation piece.

I've been to the Laurel and Hardy museum in Ulverston, England. That's Stan Laurel's birth town. There is a statue of both of them outside, and there is indeed a small cinema inside that plays their movies. Some older people were sitting in there watching the show. I had no idea that there was a parallel museum in Georgia, but it makes sense, since Hardy was from there.

When I was returning home from Columbia, South Carolina, I saw a sign for the Laurel And Hardy Museum. The museum is located in Harlem, Georgia, which is west of Augusta, Georgia. Oliver Hardy was born in Harlem. This is a quaint little museum(and welcome center). This is more of an informational post for anyone with an interest who might be traveling in this area.

Remember the article I read back in the early 1970s stating that there were theaters in eastern Asia that were still showing Laurel And Hardy silent films on screen. I would not be surprised that it still holds even now. Their works transcend the barriers of language, in that comedy is universal.

Thanks for the memories.

We always loved the great movies of Laurel and Hardy.
I don't understand why, so many thought they were 'Corny'
films?

The two of them were never boring like the SNL stuff of today.

Good captures of those two.
