Tom, you do like to live on the edge having these in your shed and Black Widows around. Your wife is very brave. However, good images of course.

tinusbum good photos of a bad guy. Considering how toxic they should be bright red with yellow stripes.

OR are they really that dangerous?

i'm not taking any chances,i havent found any in the wild.only in my shed and the carport (part of the shed) i could go in the shed and find one in just a few minutes

I've never seen one at my house but my parents had plenty of them. One day several years ago my mother and I were looking for something in the upstairs of my parent's house when I saw one run across a box. I placed something in front of it so it would stop. It turned around and ran the other direction whereas I stopped it again and it settled down. I told my mother to stand guard over it while I went downstairs to set up my macro unit but if it tried to escape while I was gone to smash it with the magazine my mother was holding. Fortunately it stayed in one spot long enough for me to get a good shot. After that shot we made good use of the magazine. These are good shots of one spider I don't mind killing.
