AzPicLady Loc: Behind the camera!

I have a 45-year-old asparagus fern. Occasionally it has blossoms on it. The blooms are teensy weensy - smaller than a pin head, but there are several of them. Right now it is blooming profusely for the first time in years. I've always wanted a photo of those tiny flowers, so I got out my camera and tripod and made some. I'm posting two. One is a one-shot done at f8. The other is the exact same group, but done with focus stacking. I'd really like to know which one y'all like best (and if you can tell which is which!).

Just guessing #2 is stacked but only because more individual clusters seem in sharper focus. But hey, if number one is stacked, I’m perfectly happy with stopping down and holding my breath… I am, to a fault a lazy old man (I would say “coot” but then I would be relegated to the bird sub gallery.

Bein' a sucker for a nice Bokeh and shallow focus, I'm enamored with the first shot...Very nice and dreamy! I'm gonna' guess the second shot with more focus is the stack.

Nice work, AzPicLady!

And you would be correct. I actually intended to shoot it at a smaller f-stop, but due to bad eyesight, it got set at 8. I think it would have been better at 16 or above.

Thanks, Yorkie. I like it also. To me it looks more natural.

This will be interesting to see which folks prefer. It's sort of a test to see it the extra work is worth it. Thanks.

AzPicLady, Edit science prevails, but the sharp intuitive eye of Manglesphoto said that edit 2 is stacked and sharper.
I cropped and then combined #1 and #2. Are Manglesphoto and I correct?

UPPER CLUSTER RIGHT IS SHARPER DEPTH

Interesting! I never know ferns bloomed. Nice photos, too.
