I do not know what this is. Photographed it in August last year, on one bloom of a flower in my yard. I will appreciate any ID, or even where to look.

Hard to tell from your photo. I would hazard a guess that it is some form of Hemipteran.

Ugly little guy and not blending very well. Easy for a bird or a lizard to see and snap up. ;) I have no idea what it is.

Great find. It is an assassin bug. They are very stealthy and they lay in wait for an unsuspecting insect to visit the plant and then they pounce on it. They have specialized strong front legs with sharp pointed ends that are used to grab and hold their prey. Then....they stab the insect with its proboscis and suck its innards.

They are highly beneficial for they are one of Mother Nature's natural pest control so when you find them in your flower bed or garden, you are blessed to have them living there keeping your plants safe from pests.
