I had been hearing about major wildflower blooms all across the country and was beginning to feel left out. But no longer. I went for a short drive and hike earlier this week and stumbled upon this scene of blue lupine and arrowleaf balsamroot covering a hillside. It was hard to pick the images to post. The last image is of a little chipmunk on an old piece of mining equipment. I threw that one into this post simply because I like it so much. I hope you enjoy these shots as much as I enjoyed taking them.

saxman71, It was difficult to decide but No. 2 won the blue ribbon with me. Could you be a little more specific on the location in Washington?

Thank you all for the nice comments. These shots were taken just north and west of Wenatchee along Horse Lake Road. It can't be more that five miles from downtown Wenatchee.
