After finding an unhatched robin’s egg on the ground, I became interested in why the unhatched egg had been removed from the nest. Within a few minutes, it was obvious that a pair of House Sparrows were trying to take over the nest. It was interesting to note that the pair of House Sparrows fought the female robin, but the male robin never entered the fray.
The photo of the robin’s egg was positioned on geraniums before I left the egg on the ground.

Excellent action sequence. Two on one usually wins the day. This Robin need husband's help to win this one. Who was the original owner and who was the interloper ???

Hereford, Thanks for your question. The robins built the ordinal nest and the sparrows were the bandits.
