Very appealing.
I recently saw a macro picture of one of these seed heads shot from straight down. The pattern was highly complex and symmetrical and pleasing. No doubt it required some care from the photographer to get the angle just right, since a very slight deviation would have not had the same effect.
Seems like a fun challenge!
