the snow was deeper when i walked to the 1 1/2 miles to school high school back in 1966

Most of the times the wind was not too bad and temperatures were below freezing. We started playing hockey as soon as the ice on the neighborhood pond would support us. If it was a blizzard school was called off since most children road a bus and the city and county could not keep the roads clear. We stayed home and cleaned off the neighborhood pond so we could play hockey. At 17 I started driving to school. The males had it better than the ladies who had bare legs due to women could not wear pants.
