Just out of curiosity, I took a look at the discussions in The Attic. Amazing! I find it hard to believe that most of the posters are serious., and that's being charitable.

Some folks are VERY passionate about their feelings on certain subjects And feel nowadays its a minority rule situation and the lunatics are running the asylum. I myself had to tone things down on FB because the Fact Checkers were ridiculous and I have too many special interest groups to put into jeopardy. People are FRUSTRATED !

Jerry, what makes you think "most" of the posters are serious in what they're writing? I got the impression that many are there simply for a warped kind of entertainment 
I'm not discounting MrBob's observation about frustration and passion, just commenting on the residents of UHH's Attic. If one can't engage in courteous conversation, there will be no way to move forward.

All good points. Watching "the fool and fanatic" is interesting, until you realize that they are boring! They have their limited stock of responses which they feel are good arguments, no matter how inappropriate and/or irrational.

I understand the purpose of The Attic. I can pretty much presume that the feature evolved over time. In the very beginning I made a foolish mistake. I gave my opinion once and banished to the Attic.
This feature is in place to prevent chaos and tumult amongst the hedge hoggers. I have learned the errors I foolishly made earlier.
By the way, this feature is a slight variation from Robert’s Rules Of Order.

I haven't visited the 'Attic' for quite a while now, I naively joined in some of the comments (though not about American politics or personal insults) but such was the reaction from some of the contributors...I thought 'best stick with the photo comments Alan'.

I’ve noticed that most of the Attic posters are single minded arrogant folks. I have been accused of some of that in my young days, but years teach us that it’s not our place to try & change ppls opinion, it only raises conflict.
I’ve learnt to mind my own business generally, but occasionally I just can’t bite my tongue, & open my mouth.
If nothing else, it vents my frustration. I rarely read the Attic, it’s always the same old vitriol from the same old ppl.
There’s still good reading in the other sections. Nudity section seems to be rather quiet for a while now, sadly.

Don’t give the Admin any ideas. Right now, when a violation is committed, you are dragged up 39 steps by your ankles. As a result you bang your head all the way up. If you are sent to the basement, the Admin just pushes you down the stairs and you are more likely to break several bones and suffer many contusions.
