The laptop shows that was not the case in the past and bolsters her case that child support should be kept at the level it is currently at as it has copies of his tax records on it.

Remember he is being investigated by the IRS for tax fraud. His tax records by themselves are worthless, but his tax records along with his proof of income that is on the laptop is priceless.

And here I thought your O.P. was total sarcasm. Instead, it's total idiocy. Biden is going to court over a family issue, not about the laptop. So far, both sides have been sending their lawyers as proxies and the judge is getting irritated. It's taking forever to get simple things done when the lawyers have to go back to their clients for information and then come back to court. For this reason, and this reason only, the judge wants both Biden and the mother of the child in court for all future appearances. They're wasting court time.

That is only part of it. The upcoming hearing is a contempt hearing.
Biden initiated the case asking to have his Child Support lowered, claiming he is indigent. Child's mother has been trying to get discovery on income sources since. Meanwhile, Biden has been ignoring the requests and court orders, so child's mother has filed a motion for Biden to be held in contempt and jailed until he complies.
