I usually don't do B&W but thought it might work for this shot. It was taken very late evening on overcast day. All feedback would be appreciated. Thanks for looking.

Normally B&W only works on certain photos.
You picked the best one. Fantastic photo.
Thanks

Well ... you should consider B&W more often! This is really nice. My only critique would be that I would crop a little more off the top, but that is just a personal preference. Great job!

Very nice composition and the photo definitely works as a B&W.
That is a spectacular photo!!
Ditto on cropping a bit off the top, but the photo is just beautiful. One of the best B/W's I've seen.

The composition is excellent!
How did you convert to B & W? Did you just de-saturate the photo or did you use any special programs in photoshop, lightroom, etc?
In my opinion, even though this is a great shot, there is a slight red or brown color to the photo. This may be what you intended. There are some excellent programs you can apply to really make the black and white stand out - with lots of contrast, etc.
I am just starting to use some of these programs and they are far superior to simply de-saturating the photos. I can send a few of my attempts if you would like.

Yes ! A good shot for B/W...
What it needs tho, is a little - just a tad overall lighten up - and maybe after that , a smidgen of more contrast...
Good, good composition......
Beautiful picture! Perfect for B&W. Great job. I agree with the suggestion to crop the top a bit.
I agree with don rent, a little more light and contrast. Great photo.
A great capture, and the tonal range of your B&W works well here. I too think there are some different crops that could play well here. If you scroll the image so only the clouds reflecting in the water and the row boat in the foreground are left, I think you would have yet another great horizonal image that would be very etheral and mystical. See what you think.
.. really nice photograph ... really nice!
