Desert Storm finally set the record

Looks like my time spent out watching a somewhat mediocre Shootout yesterday, was not in vain.
Last year's winner at over 184mph is this year's winner and record breaker at 204.1mph. Considering he was fighting a 10-15mph cross wind, I'd say he had it dialed in very well.

Yes sir, but everything came together for him. You could tell his run was different than the others.

The feeling of speed on the water is so much more exaggerated than on land. I have had the pleasure and exhilaration of going over 80 mph during my short ownership of an 18 ft
V-drive Flatbottom that came with a time slip of 105 mph in the liquid quarter mile. I have a hard time imagining what it must feel like to top 200 mph on water!!!

And people don't realize how hard the pounding at 80mph can be. The water is rarely smooth like asphalt and it can hit as hard as concrete.
