Found this amorous couple on my car side glass yesterday. Anybody know what they are? Combined length was about 1.25 to 1.5 inches.

Never mine. Nettle caterpillar. Never have seen one that I remember in my first 80 years. Pretty quickly in my second, tho’. I’m a little confused why I saw it in the Dallas, Texas area - sounds like it’s common in Southeast Asia.

After reading a lot more about these guys I’m thinking I should have introduced them to my Bug-A-Salt. They’ve been declared an invasive species in Japan, attacking fruit and ‘street’ trees. Don’t want them cranking up over here.

If you saw them in Dallas,Texas, then, that's no good news. They are here now, and reproducing. Probably, a call to the Dallas Department of Agriculture would be a good idea. They might ask you to forward them picture for confirmation.
I have no idea how serious in the USA, this would be, but these moths are agricultural pest.
