Because even though you cannot pick your friends, you can pick your nose.
And yes, we (my friends and I) did discover a community of the wily 'alcove primrose'. To achieve that, however, copious water crossings, constant rock hoppings, and the salty sea of red & green Hunter Canyon needed to be hiked/endured before our goal --those tiny purple flowers-- could be thought to be a success.
