Sometimes photographing the audience is more fun than the players!

A friend asked me to bring my camera to a large soccer complex in Wichita, Kansas to photograph a young man playing in a tournament on a large outdoor soccer pitch. I noticed that a lot of the players were Mexican and the majority of the fans in attendance were Spanish as well. When the action went to the far end of the pitch and out of decent camera range, I looked away from my camera to watch an amazing tiny little Mexican girl on the sidelines, kicking a soccer ball back and forth with her father. When I turned my camera toward her, she smiled at me and began running closer and closer to me each time she received the ball. I motioned to the father to ask permission to photograph his daughter. He smiled and made his passes bring her close to me and my camera. The love they shared was palpable. I felt a warm feeling inside my chest when I realized that Mexican family's tend to be close and I love it that the vast majority do not discriminate between the boys and the girls, when it comes to playing soccer. My favorite image from the shoot was that of the tiny little Mexican girl playing soccer with her father. I could almost hear her say, "I love to play soccer with my papa. Mucho Gracious for taking my picture, senior." I hope that you enjoy my image. Shooter41

Nice story behind the photo of the little girl. Hopefully papa gave you his email address for a copy. Thanks for sharing!
