Has anyone heard of Shalom Camera in Indonesia? Are they any good to do business with? They seem to have some reasonable prices on used or previously owned camera and lenses. Thanks
Shalom Camera, in Indonesia? That's funny. Shop B&H, maybe Adorama, avoid the rest.

Who knows? But, from their web site, the beginning of their About page:
Quote:
About Us
Shalom Camera Store servicing local and international buyers of camera equipment and electronics.
Camera store in Batam Center Indonesia with over 10 years of experience...
With all due respect, why buying used camera gear abroad when you have excellent and reputable dealers in this country? MPB, Adorama, Roberts Camera, KEH just to mention some of them.
You get with most dealers a 6 months warranty if something is wrong. Will Shalom do the same? Even if they do you have to send the camera back to Indonesia.
My best advise is that you buy here.
Don't waste your money. Instead buy the bridge over Manhatton's East River that I have for sale.

Pay your money and take your chances. Most likely you will void any warranties by not purchasing gear intended for sale in the USA.

You can’t sell it. I bought it and got a great deal. I got it on sale for 2.2M including the Holland Tunnel. And as a bonus the sale included
A Hassie H6D and a digital back but no lens

I think most people who live in Colorado shop at Shalom Camera in Indonesia.
Instead of posting on UHH, you should check with your neighbors.

It appears from most of your replies (and from what I have previously read on this site) that many of you spent more than a year completing the sixth grade. I thought this site might be interesting and informative. Apparently not. For those few of you that actually had something worthwhile to contribute, I appreciate it. The rest of you, don't bother replying and your sarcasm isn't as clever as you think. I am deleting this site from my computer as soon as I post this.

I’m not sure why this camera store is of interest. Personally, I have enough gear (too much) according to my wife. Every now and then I head to B&H or ADORAMA when I need stuff. Whenever I plan on going to a new city, I look for a store selling gear if I need stuff.
