These butterfly species are not found in the wild in Arizona. Where taken, then?

Regarding the "combat" mention ... I noticed(over a period of weeks) that I did see the birds "fighting?" I never saw any birds get hurt or injured in any way, it seemed like they were just trying to assert their place at the feeding station - interesting. I was also amazed that often their "fighting" seemed to take place in mid-air with limiter wing flapping, yet none of the birds ever even came close to hitting the ground!

Once one of the birds found the place where there was food, they seemed to go inform the rest of the flock where they had found food, and that resulted in a lot of activity at the feeder.

The butterfly pictures were taken at a butterfly pavilion in the Phoenix area.
