Focus Stacked Image of Honeybee with Pollen

The honeybees are making themselves shown and they are hard at work gathering pollen. This is a honeybee that I found expired last year which I suspect worked itself to death and I keep it preserved in a pill bottle with a mothball.

I staged it for a focus stacking session at 5X magnification to show the individual grains of pollen attached to its specialized hairs.

Thanks, Tim. I find it amazing how evolution has created specialized relationships. The flowers have created their pollen by making it sticky and spikey hooked. The honeybee has evolved with specialized hairs where each hair has a bristle-like appearance to attract and hold the pollen. The plant benefits by having its genes spread to other flowers and the honeybee gets nourishment for itself and the hive. It is a relationship that has benefited both.

Once again, an incrédible shot!
I like how the pollen particles are standing out .

Thanks, Saxman. I use a microscope objective as the lens of the camera which is how I get the magnification and detail.
