Running out of time ...

I see a picture like that, I wonder about the people who live in that house at one time. Nice picture.
Thank you, Bill 45. I wonder about that as well.

GREAT shot but so sad to see all these things growing old.
Thank you very much, Horseart. I agree, it is sad.

Very nice, moody composition.
Thank you very much, HRoss.
beautiful find and shot. The dark clouds and patchy snow really add to the mood.

Speaking of running out of time, at least with respect to an old iconic structure, here's a series of pictures showing the time running out for a building which was of significance importance for our family, or at least my wife's side of the family.
This was her grandparents house, an old fashion log cabin, located in the small town of Lewiston, Michigan, in the upper-part of the state's Lower Peninsula. My wife and her sister and a few other cousins, were all born in this house, back when there was no electricity nor a well (they hauled water from town in milk cans).
We can usually be sure that no matter where we go, my wife will be the only person in the room who can claim to have been 'born in a log cabin', or for that matter, having been delivered by her grandmother...
The old house, how it looked in March 1970 - Minolta SRT-101, 58mm
This picture was taken in August 1985 and that's my wife Barb, and her grandmother Flora- Minolta XG-M, 50mm
And then again, in July 1991 - Minolta XG-M, 35mm
And in July 1995, we were having a bit of a 'family reunion'. Note that at least two people in this picture, my wife and her sister, were born in this log cabin - Minolta XG-M, 35mm
A bit of a cool and foggy day in April 2001 - Canon PowerShot S10
It started to look a little more dilapidated in April 2014, as no one had lived there for something like 20 years and even then it was mostly used as a hunting cabin by some of the cousins - Sony A65, 10-24mm
And by July 2015, the county had finally 'red-flagged' it as unsafe - Sony A65, 10-24mm
By August 2017 it had started to sag and tilt - Sony a6000, 16-50mm
And from right to left, my wife Barb, her sister Jeanette and their cousin Vern, all of whom were born in this log cabin. This was taken in August 2017 - Sony a6000, 16-50mm
But by June 2019, it had finally given-up the ghost - Sony a6000, 16-50mm

Thanks, OldCADuser. Your pictures provide a good photo-story of how the old home finally ran out of time. Kind of sad, really, but at least you have some photos and some fine memories of the old home and the family that lived and gathered there.
