Decided to take the 79 bus crosstown yesterday to shoot along the Hudson River.
I wasn't impressed with my skill level of the shots on the walk itself, especially including the river.
The top photo is a four image pan with a tunnel under the W. Side Highway to the miles long river side walk.
The next shows the actual geologic foundation feet and inches below the surface of the city. The third image is the rotunda built into the rocks many years ago, which until a few years ago contained an outdoor café opposite the 79th St., boat basin. The owners either sold it, or gave it to the park commission. I liked the colors with the fencing and the workers on break.
The last image from my roof (400mm lens) is of this morning's sunrise behind the Whitestone Bridge, which is east of LaGuardia airport.
You did well, I think--enjoyed.
Love the last shot - good timing with the plane taking off at sunset, positioning with the bridge and gritty urban scene.
Central Park has been one of my favorite settings to get good shots too. Will be there a few times this season.
Thanks for the daily peeks and tours of NYC. The sunrise and plane is spectacular!
I continue to enjoy NYC through your good eye, David!
Nice shots. It has been a very long time since I last saw NYC. 90 minutes by train will get you there from Poughkeepsie.
Excellent photos and descriptions! Can't figure out what the guy is wearing on his head in #2. I've done a few like the sun & plane from a condo in Miami. Looks like, if you time it right, you could get the whole plane inside the sun!
Fantastic shots, especially the last one.
