Question, how many people think to take the back side of a flower, mushroom etc. Few photograph the subjects back side with the exception of the photographs of beautiful young ladies. Dwmoar, you have introduced us to a different point of view of a simple every day subject, a flower.
The first two photos are beautiful and well taken, the white/gray shading skillfully exposed reveling texture too often burned out by typical photographers. This is the typical view we see and remember having seen the tops of flowers all of our lives.
Photo 4, is mind expanding, it shows us coloration we would otherwise, in typical viewing, never see. Again the shading and detail is captured to the N-th degree. The same can be said about the greens area of the "stem bloom" that we would never in ordinary life pay attention to. Contrasted to the flowing beauty of the peddles is the harry brown support stem.
There is nothing exceptional about the equipment you used, I have Zerene Stacker, which does not stack a single photo, you took 35 images, meat for the Zerene Stacker mill. I have two macro lenses and a Sony A65 equivalent to your Canon... so what is my excuse for not taken photos to rival yours ... none... except, I didn't and your did; for that, I salute you.

Stunningly beautiful shots.
Nicely done. Thanks for sharing.
I've not tried focus stacking, almost all my photography is done with my cellphone, and I have not found a free app yet that will do that.
Besides, I don't think that I have the patience to keep changing focus enough times to make it work.
Excellent photos with creativity, David!
