a while back someone on the forum was kind enough to tell me how to add more room to a picture with the transform tool. However I cant find the post and for the life of me can't remember how to do it.
I have a picture of my niece which I want to print in 8x10 but the hat keeps getting cut off so I want to add some more room to one of sides does that make sense?
If any one can help I would appreciate it thanks
Sincerely,
ellen

Ok, ellen, I just googled "add canvas size to image" and came up with lots of help for you on that subject. Try it.

I reckon you need more in the height as well...I had a quick play but when cropping to 10 X 8 even with extra width, it didn't work...?
Which editing software are you using?
you need to make the canvas size bigger on both the right side and the top. Once you make that bigger, you can use the clone tool to add the texture to the new blank areas you created.

Thanks for trying, this will teach me to leave room when taking a photo! took this a long time ago when I didn't know better, but my sister really likes it so I am trying to make it work.

An old version of Paint Shop Pro...just copied a section cropped from the same pic and pasted it onto another copy...this one I did a bit of cloning as well to remove the join line...
Most modern cameras have a 3 : 2 ratio and as we try to "fill the frame", sometimes this happens where there isn't enough room to crop to a different size/ratio...
Spending more time on it, you could probably clone the top section and get it reasonable, but the bottom would be a bit of a task...
