That’s a great scene in itself, Linda and the the fog adds another dimension to the photo. It almost looks as if you have added a texture layer. The bordering also adds a completeness. Congratulations on a fine image.

Great photograph, Linda. I love what the fog adds to the overall scene.

I'm so pleased you enjoyed, John. Thank you!

I've just added a screenprint of the workflow. The texture you discerned is from a "Dramatic HDR" layer from Topaz Studio 2. Lots of paths (too many choices, sometimes!) to get where we want to go when playfully processing

I like both. If I had to pic I would go with the color. The building pops a bit more in that one. The fog looks natural in both versions.

Thanks so much for your time, Frank. The patchy fog was real, coming up from the bottom of a small canyon in near-freezing temps.

Here is a color version, with the HDR layer for a bit of grit. It was one of those scenes with too many editing options to make a firm commitment

See Linda, I told you the fog looked real. I like this color version even more. Just enough pop to lead the eye to the building.

I like both the B&W and colour versions, but I must admit that the B&W is more striking to me. It shows up the lines (and there are so many of them) better without the distracting colour. I really like the fence "falling" off the hill! Cool find on the scene. Nice presentations of it.

All three of these work well, but the first and the last are my favorites. I like both for entirely different and non-competing reasons!

Thank you, Kathy! Your input is greatly appreciated.

There still are many photogenic sites within a few miles of Yakima, though a distressing number of orchards and hops fields have been replaced by new homes in the 20 years I've lived here.
