As people might have noted from my previous posts, I've done a lot of traveling and taken a lot of pictures on these trips, including a habit of getting shots of Historical Markers. Of course, the markers are put there so that travelers and visitors are aware of the local history or events that have taken place at those locations, and like the people or groups who arrange for them be to erected, I'm going to share some of the ones that I've encountered so as to help everyone appreciate the history that I've learned about...

Interesting. I find historical markers quite interesting. I once had a notion to photograph all of them in AZ and publish a booklet of them. Never did it. Someone else did and probably made a mint!

What a great post and my kind of traveler. It is obvivous that you got off the interstate. I should have had a bumper sticker that read This Vehicle Stops At Historic Markers. If there is a sign that reads "Something Interesting Two Miles Down this Road", I'm turning off. It took us eleven days to get from St Joe, Mo. to Yellowstone, but we saw some interesting things between here and there. Thanks for sharing.
