Started back about 150 years ago and enhanced by the iconic song written by Irving Berlin, the parade has morphed from women showing off their millenary skills into...well, something else.
Today, the parade is primarily in front of St. Patrick's Cathedral, which is seen here as a three image panogram.
The dog is 17, the cat is 21, owners are somewhat older.
Some creations were projects lasting several months. The lady talking into the CBS microphone attracted a lot of attention, but I don't know who she was.
I Included the last three photos because of a similar feature in each.
Just my vague humor.
Wow! I didn't know they still did that. I was going to begin a thread asking if anyone knew what the term "Easter Parade" means.
Great shots. I guess its still a tradition.
Nice photos but...couldn't pay me enough!!!
Nice coverage, the costumes are a bit bizarre though.
I love them! What fun! Great captures!

Nope. The good guys (cops) had the A.R. 15's, and the bad guys and gals had cell phones which they consistently put in front of my camera.
Styles and colors certainly have gone wild. Excellent street shots.

I’m not sure someone from Louisiana should comment on NYC crime rates since New Orleans is twice as violent.
The cat appears to be thinking, "Why Me..?"
