Yesterday was a beautiful day here in South Florida. During our springtime humidity begins to rise, along with the temperatures, we had a very pleasant day with temperatures in the mid 80’s and a cool breeze from the southeast.
My son owns an apartment in Brickell Key overlooking the Biscayne Bay. We had lunch there and then we headed for the Perez Art Museum, not far from downtown and the Port of Miami. Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama was exhibiting her art but unfortunately we could not see it because it was full to capacity.

Just opposite the museum and heading south is the Maurice Ferre Park. Maurice Ferre was for many years the Miami Mayor. The park has been dedicated to honor his memory. This is a beautiful park overlooking Biscayne Bay and most recently one of our Commissioners, Joe Carollo, opened an exhibition of cats and dogs, I guess made of ceramic, beautifully painted that attracts lots of visitors. There is also a statue there of what appears to me to be a Moai, one of those many statues found in Easter Island, Chile, South America.
The majority of these images were shot around midday, with strong sunlight. Due to the UV radiation they had a blue tinge that I color corrected. I used no filters, to get details in the sky I underexposed by 1/3 stop and I lightly used some burned-in.

Our last stop was at Wynwood, a part of the city that has become very popular over the years. Plenty of graffiti to see here painted on the wall of houses and businesses from artists all over the world. Lately new apartment buildings and famous restaurants have been opened here for those who want to spend a romantic evening at this place or simply eat at leisure. In addition there are plenty of local restaurants with more economical prices that seem to be very popular. It is a great place for street photography, the place was crowded like it usually happens during the weekends. In addition to all that there are many art museums where artists from all over the world exhibit their art.

I used my Olympus EM-10 Mk II hand held with the Zuiko 12-40 f2.8 Pro lens. This is the first time I use the electronic shutter of the camera. It was all silence and I guess great to shoot in zoos or public places where noise is objectionable. I did not photograph inside the museum for obvious reasons.
I had a great day with the family and I hope to return soon with better light, perhaps in the evening, to continue to photograph this beautiful park and part of the Miami skyline at dusk.

The first shot shows a public trolley that we used to take us to the museum. The second shot is the Moai type of statue found in Easter Island.
The third shot is part of the Miami skyline as seen from the park. The following one is a portrait of the statue of one of the dogs. The fifth shot is a colorful door at Wynwood. The beautiful warm colors caught my eye.
The last shot is a street scene also in Wynwood showing one of the buildings with graffiti.
