walking the beach today, I came across this bird, seems to be doing well, despite the infirmity.

This guy was around for 2 or 3 years, then last year he was a no-show. At first you don't notice the missing leg, then you can see the scar down his breast. We used to have cats, maybe he was caught unawares by one of them.

I have seen a few shorebirds here with one leg. They seem to get along well.
