It's the same as trading a car in vs selling it yourself. Apple is always going to lowball. We use eBay as the guide. Lots of buy it nows for $1,299. This machine is also listed on eBay, wanted to give hoggers a chance to save the 15% eBay fee.

IMHO this only has a use as a slave monitor to a newer mac. It is the oldest iMac that can be upgraded to Mac OS Ventura. My thoughts only, yours may differ.

This machine has no problem keeping up with adobe lightroom, photoshop and 4K video editing. Are you a full time photo/video editor who has used this machine and had a different experience, Bob? Why not keep your “humble opinions” to yourself, Bob? Maybe I should leave a useless comment about your 35mm lens for sale on that thread, Bob?

Please feel free to do so.

Just because a lens is useless to you does not mean that it is not good for someone not upgrading to the "latest and greatest". That said, the same can go for computers. The one plus for the iMacs is that the screen can be used as a great slave monitor for another Mac, either iMac, Mac Studio, MacBook, MacBook Pro and at less cost that some of the comparable-sized monitors with less resolution.

Your anger is somewhat misplaced as your iMac will soon be unsellable due to the greatly improved performance of the new Apple Chips.
