I could never understand why Apple decided to use white keyboards. Mine always seems a bit dirty. but the black keyboard on the Dell always looks clean. I'm sure both keyboards are equally dirty, but the white shows it better. I think the slightly textured surface of the white keys is partially to blame. Windows keyboard usually have very smooth keys, but keyboards, even replacements, for Apples are usually white and textured.

Yes, I do wash my hands. 🤣

Interesting point. Really old IBM keyboards were usually off-white or cream and textured. They got rather dirty yet many never stopped working. I was using an old couple IBM keyboards with my 2000's era PC until I went to Dell towers with USB peripherals.

I got it clean with the help of some alcohol. Man, I love that Guinness!

IBM had white keyboard too and my IBM keyboard made back in 1989 is still working and looking clean as I can really wash it. Pop all the key caps out and clean the with detergent in the sink. When I buy a new computer I simply toss the keyboard and use the keyboard I have since 1898.

I meant 1989. not 1898.

If you keep it long enough without ever cleaning it, the key board will eventually turn black. Problem solved! No need to put in the dishwasher.

I was kinda! I hate it because they don't make them like that anymore. I am not a good typist but that keyboard helps me type better. It was $200 in 1989 but it's worth it.

Yes, I remember when keyboards were very expensive.

Funny - I went to an IBM presentation of their new PS2 computers. They had things on pedestals. One of the presenters knocked a keyboard to the floor, and most of the keycaps popped off. I think those removable keycaps were more trouble than they were worth.

I love them. I don't have that problem with over thirty years using it

Somewhat related - I have a couple of mugs from the radio show "Car Talk." They're black inside, and they always look "clean."

They no longer have my style of mug available. I don't like the current designs.

Jerry you might also consider, while you're at it, to clean your SSD.......it even comes with cleaning instructions:
SSD - super soapy dishwater...... you know, for improved performance.

I always enjoy helping others with their chores........ :-}

Naturally! Imagine eating an apple without washing it or installing an SSD or HDD without thoroughly washing it! Dawn does a good job of getting into all those nooks and crannies.

NOTICE: I am not being serious!
