The Great Blue Heron was only about 40 feet away struggling with a large trout. It attempted to swallow the fish several times but was not able to. I think the trout was just too heavy for the Heron to lift it high enough above its head to let it slide down its throat. It left without a dinner…

Beautiful shots - but the bird's lucky they didn't have a whale swimming there
