I used TT this year, but I wasn't able to look at the actual tax forms. Is this possible before saving and printing? I paid already.

No TT tax asked you a lot of question on their own forms. The official IRS form can only be seen when you save or print the pdf that they created. I used TT for more than 10 years now. I use it for 2 reasons.
1. Online filing.
2. My wife does a lot of stock trading and it's a pain to enter the transaction manually. TT can import the documents from the broker and fill it in automatically.

Otherwise my tax is quite simple and I would simply download the form from the IRS and file.

I believe one needs to "print" before the forms can be viewed.
I always save what I'm working on, but I imagine one can print the "current" return to a PDF at any time. I've no need to view the forms in progress though. I certainly don't want multiple paper copies before I file.
One can also print the return before it is filed if one likes.

(Saving what I entered only saves me the trouble of entering it all again. One can have it "start" from the beginning again if one likes and update info, or just review.)

TT says it saves after every entry. H&R Block and others let me see the forms whenever I want. TT used to allow that, too. I started using H&R, but it kept running me around in circles.

Maybe TT still does, maybe they just changed how one does it.

I guess so! I have zero interest in seeing the tax forms. I need a copy to file away and then do the e-file.

I like seeing the form rather than just answering the software's questions.

yes you can see the forms. On the upper left is a place called forms and you can see any form at anytime.

As Ajbrenn said, at the top there's a tab "Forms" - click on it and then "Open Form" and then choose which one to view and modify.

Not on my TT. I didn't see the forms till I printed them.

If you select e-file,TT does not create the forms until the return is e-filed.
Then a .pdf file is created and you can print it.
I like to review the forms before filing, so I select "mail", print the forms, then go back and select e-file.

When I print, I first select PDF. Then I select my printer.

Can't say about TT but H&R Block suftwear allows viewing the form. Create a pdf then view it on your 'puter. Good luck

At the top there is a tab called forms and several other tabs, click on the forms tab and you will be able to view your forms. I have been using TT for quite a few years now. The only thing I don't like is that I have to pay to e-file state taxes. It is rather inexpensive for the state taxes to e-file, this year it was 25.00 USD in the past it was 20.00 USD and Federal has always been free. This year I owed Federal and was able to have the amount taken directly from my checking account, I just had to set up all the account information and then select a date to pay it. The date had to be after the date of filing
